Stone Setting Pendants - 7 hours

NEW addition to this workshop: Students will be able to attach added embellishments around their stone. This includes shadow box wires and decorative balls. Previously we only did stamping for border designs, which is what is shown in most of the photos.

This workshop is similar to the Statement Ring workshop but will cover pendant and necklace attachments instead of ring shanks. Included materials are also different in this workshop, see below.

In this fun and challenging class students will learn how to make a bezel setting for a cabochon stone (which has a flat bottom and rounded top). Stones will be available and included in the price. We will go over how to get a snug fit for the bezel, the basics of soldering, how to get a clean bond without melting your metal, general pendant design, and embellishments like stamping or hammered texture.

This class works well for total beginners with no experience as well as people who have already been making jewelry and want a crash course on soldering.

Included Materials - Brass and bronze material is included for your backplate design, as well as silver bezel, silver loop attachments (bail), silver jump rings, silver clasp and a stainless steel chain. Your cabochon stone is also all included in the price. A selection of stones will be available but feel free to bring your own to see if it will be a good option. 

This workshop does NOT include silver for the backplate design or a silver chain. If you want to purchase silver for a backplate it is about $20 for medium size pendant design and $20 for sterling silver chain.
