Statement Earrings and Hammering Skills - 3 hours

Have you ever wanted to design and create your very own pair of statement earrings? In this workshop you will learn the basic metalsmithing techniques needed to bring your idea to completion. We will have time to sketch out some ideas, go over a few different techniques and then get to work. Techniques covered: using a jewelers saw to cut your metal, smoothing the edges with a file, hammering textures and shaping, drilling holes, using pliers and forming your ear-wires.

We will not use a torch or any power tools in this course so it is a great way to see what is possible for starting an at home jewelry hobby.

Brass, bronze and copper are included in this class as well as sterling silver ear wires. If you would like to use silver for your earring design you may purchase some from me during class.
